Devender Singh Kharb, on the other hand, presented a clubwear collection suitable for day as well as for night. The elegant ash-grey gown with sequins stood out, as did the net gown with embroidery. The innovative styling of the other garments in a colour palette of silver, black, grey with hints of blue and sand certainly left an imprint on the mind.
As did the knitted tops and sweaters of Mansee Handa's collection. Shades of blue and lilac, the predominant colours, were balanced with off-white, cream and beige, the styles contemporary and the shawl timeless. These casualwear coordinates for mild winters looked comfortable as well as striking. So did the blue rayon gown designed by Nivedita Indulkar. Versatile both for rigorous dancing or any show-biz event, her collection concentrated on fluid clothing primarily in customized knits. ‘Ease of movement, enhancement of body form and stage impact’ seemed to be her three guiding principles.
