Jersey and stretch linen are gathered faintly
reminiscent of ancient Greece, yet wrapped around the body in hourglass
silhouettes. ‘We usually think of certain actresses or supermodels
as “goddesses”,’ Thê Anh said. ‘I projected into the future
what they will be.’ The result is kind of old Hollywood glamour
meets The Jetsons. Details are all-out futuristic. Some looks
featured saddle stitching reminiscent of computer pixels. Clear
plastic inserts in unexpected places, like an overskirt of shoulder
straps, then shot with Swarovski crystals.
In a city renowned for its leather production,
two of top design houses did very different takes. Rudsak’s
Evik Asatoorian took a white theme, played out against red, black
or camel. The cargo look still was part of this collection, but
with more of an adventurer spirit than military. Athletic-wear styling
also infiltrated the line, as did the sophisticated biker looks
the line is becoming famous for. Look for them in white and pastels,
with striated or pearl effects also adding light, spring-like effects.
