FashionLucire spring-summer 2004

Despite numerous established names choosing not to show, resulting in a briefer event, new talent at Montréal Fashion Week spring–summer 2004 injected a new spirit to the event, as Susan Kelly reveals

KIES WERE CLEAR, temperatures balmy, breezes light. Le Belvedère, a spacious, window-lined hall is perched at the end of a pier in Old Montréal, provided an ideal backdrop for Montréal Fashion Week 5. Held September 6 through 10, the action revolved around this central venue, with a sister hall, the Panoramic, not far away. Organizers were able to more tightly schedule the fashion shows, not to mention the de rigueur cocktails and other industry schmoozathons.
   This year, the Week was trimmed to a three-day event, as a sampling of la belle province’s designers celebrated spring 2004 fashion.
