The collection is filled with fluttery and filmy
pastels that speak of soft femininity. Rose, mint, baby blue and
saffron recall some of the pastels from the 1950s. Tiny waists and
swirly full skirts draw attention to the close-fitting strapless
and plunging necklines of the blouson. Macramé, lace, ribbons
and embroidery are the details that separate Orlandi's creations
from other designers that harken back to the 50s for inspiration.
Also present at the collection were Salman Rushdie
and wife Padma Lakshmi, star of the British TV hit cooking show,
wearing a peach macramé Luca Luca, and Jane Krakowski, actress,
glowing in silver satin pants and a matching chiffon blouse. Halle
Berry wore a Luca Luca beige macramé blouse for her pre-Oscar
interview with Barbara Walters.
