   Eveningwear has always been a Scherrer speciality and given Stéphane Rolland's preference for haute couture, audiences were in for a treat. Patchwork was the dominant theme—the more elaborate black velvet and silk gowns and skirts were designed to exaggerate "strips" of fabric. Remember, this is Paris and this is Scherrer—patchwork would otherwise not have been pulled off with such elegance.
